Main Stage

Born Mikail Tafari in Tottenham, London, Congo Natty began his decade spanning career in the 80’s band Double Trouble, releasing the ska-pop hit 'Street-Tuff'. This lay the foundations to his following however it was far from representative of what he wanted to achieve and the collaboration with Double Trouble was short-lived.

Pushing away from the British hip-hop community, Congo Natty took a grasp on his Jamaican roots with his second album 'Black Meaning Good', powerfully showing off his reggae, hip-hop and emerging jungle styles. He sought to embrace a wide range of influences to create his unique sound and distinctly London sound, and dedicated two record labels to this new craft.

After a trip to his homeland of Ethiopia in 2007, Congo Natty returned re-invigorated and determined to make an impact. His vision: to bring talent and creativity back into the forefront of the industry.
