The R.A.U. Vegetable Patch
Springing up alongside our Feastival Herb Garden is our brand new Vegetable Patch! Following the success of our UK Festival Award-winning initiative 'The Wheat Project', we're delighted to be working with The Royal Agricultural University to create an incredible new sensory experience for children that will showcase the journey from field to fork with the fresh herbs and vegetables grown at the festival. Think fragrant basil, coriander and rosemary, along with home-grown earthy courgettes and carrots.
We’ve been busy all summer tending vegetables with the RAU and testing recipes with NEFF and Hobbs House, all in preparation for our budding young chefs! Starting in the RAU Veg Patch, children will get green fingers picking fresh carrots, courgettes and beetroot. They will then enter the NEFF Little Kitchen where the team from Hobbs House will lead them through a cookery session, baking either some savoury falafel or sweet muffins all with the veg they’ve just picked.
Registration is free and will take place at the RAU Veg Patch on the day on a first-come, first-served basis. We can’t wait to kick off another year of “grow-your-own” fun!
