Crayons & Crafts
Brand new for this year! Creativity has no boundaries in our dedicated Arts and Crafts space.
As we’re sure you’ve gathered by now, Big Feastival HQ LOVE a bit of alliteration so we’ve appropriately themed the action in Crayons & Crafts each day. Make way for Festival Friday, Silly Saturday and Superhero Sunday!
Rolling workshops throughout the day for children and parents alike to drop into and create until their hearts are content.
Fitzy Witzy Badges offers a bespoke art workshop providing beautifully handmade badges suitable for any occasion for children and grown-ups alike.
All paper is recycled, our stickers are hand drawn and we only use the finest quality eco-inks meaning that both the environment and little (& big!) artists are happy with their designs.
The Makery first opened its doors in Bath in 2009. Dedicated to empowering people with new creative skills, and now with a workshop in John Lewis, Oxford Street, the team has taught a whopping 80,000 people. The Makery’s craft kits are available around the world and with two craft books under her belt The Makery's Kate has established herself as one of the UK’s leading craft experts. They will be helping little ones make all sorts of lovely crafty things for each of our themed days...
Festival Friday: Festival headbands with feathers, ribbons and plenty of girl and boy-friendly bits and pieces.
Silly Saturday: Alien and Unicorn Headbands.
Superhero Sunday: Capes in the morning and Masks in the afternoon
Guaranteed to make you a brighter person, Tie Dye High Five says “don’t buy, DIY!”. The colour causing crew have been running workshops all over the world since 2013, with thousands of colourful tie dye masterpieces unleashed in the world. They can pop up anywhere there is a water source. So, join them for a workshop where you will learn the art of tie dye, from swirl to crumple, stripe to freestyle. Go crazy with colours, let your creativity run free and within 24 hours your whole wardrobe will be tie dyed. It’s a form of colour therapy, and both the workshop and your creations are bound to make you smile. Not just for hippies. Tie Dye is for everyone.
Join us in the Weaving Wonders little sanctuary of quiet industriousness, come and try your hand (hands!) at the ancient craft of basket weaving; Using soft, natural materials you can weave yourself a Big Festival Wigwam, a little basket to put things in, a seriously tall pen pot or anything in-between!
All ages are welcome but very little ones will need some adult assistance, as a very rough guide the average time spent is 45 mins but feel free to spend as long as you like.
